Bring family and friends to explore the indoor and outdoor exhibits, connect with community partners, and explore the museum from the new front porch entrance and Veterans Memory Garden to the old gazebo and more! Young explorers will enjoy hands-on children’s activities and the challenge of spotting our mischievous costumed runaway cowboy roaming the museum grounds. Bring your family, invite your friends, and spend the afternoon discovering local history, connecting with neighbors, and exploring the museum—inside and out! Highlights of the on-going activities include:

*Meet Nanny Nikki and her “Imagination Station” in the museum’s history wing surrounded by the gallery’s model of Black Mountain and other thematic exhibits: miners, military, ranchers, “lungers” and tourists.

*Join community partner Desert Rat Forge and in-house artisan Paul at the outdoor Blacksmith Shed for ongoing “branding” activities.

*Look for Sue Palmer, Textile Collector and native of England with her personal collection of “silks” – textile postcards made only during WWI. You’ll find her in the Cave Creek’s historic church, where the Museum originally first opened its doors in April of 1970.

*Enjoy musical interludes and help to fill our “Memory Jar” with recollections of the “old gazebo.” This original gazebo stood at Neary’s Village Square at Cave Creek Rd and Hidden Valley Drive before being relocated to the museum property in 1991.
