Your Museum Experience
The Ansbaugh Auditorium is the gateway for your museum experience that leads you to everything the museum offers. Inside you’ll find exhibits of Sonoran Desert life and works by local artists, the Archaeology Wing and the History Wing. The Mini-Wing leads you to the Outdoor Exhibits that include the Golden Reef Stamp Mill, the first church of Cave Creek and the last known original Tubercular Cabin in Arizona.
A must-do is The Arizona Gold Mining Experience with a lively recounting of Cave Creek Mining District’s heyday. Hold onto your hats when the old mine blows its top! Then onto the Golden Reef Stamp Mill where the mountainsides echo when it fires up. Plus more exciting demonstrations. (Check our Events calendar for dates/tickets.)
Don’t forget to stop in the Museum Store offering a unique selection of Arizona gifts where you’ll find something for everyone … even yourself!

Do not miss the Arizona Gold Mining Experience!! It’s the only interactive gold mining experience in all of Arizona held each 2nd & 4th Saturday. And conclude your stamp mill knowledge and gold panning experience with the Gold Fever Adventure Tour.
**Please note for March … the March 8 Arizona Gold Mining Experience is cancelled & the Arizona Gold Mining Experience on March 22 will be held on the following Saturday of March 29. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
We are excited to again offer the Gold Fever Adventure tour to the Rackensack Mine on each 2nd Saturday. The jeep holds 10 passengers maximum and leaves the Museum promptly at 1:00 pm. Visit our Events calendar for details of this and other upcoming programs.
