I remember stopping by American Legion Post 34 in Cave Creek back in the 1960s. It was the kind of place where veterans and locals came together like family. You’d hear stories from the service, share a laugh over a cold drink, and maybe join in on a game of shuffleboard or darts. The flag out front always waved proudly, and inside there was a feeling of belonging—you knew you were among friends who looked out for each other.
