Position Overview: Museum Operations Manager

Are you ready to be a driving force behind our museum’s success? As the Museum Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our daily operations. Your passion for history, organizational finesse, and collaborative spirit will help shape our future.

What You’ll Do:

  • Smooth Sailor: Ensure the museum runs like a well-oiled machine. From interpretation to preservation to maintenance, you’ll keep things humming.
  • Strategic Implementer: You’ll work closely with the Museum Director to turn our 3-year Strategic Plan into reality.
  • Integrity Defender: Uphold federal and state nonprofit regulations. Our governing documents are your guide.
  • Tech Native: Office procedures, software, and equipment hold no mysteries for you.
  • Leadership Dynamo: Manage our dedicated staff and volunteers. With integrity as your compass, you’ll build, support, and inspire our team.
  • Project Juggler: Balancing multiple initiatives? No problem. You’ve got this.
  • Volunteer Whisperer: Recruiting, training, and retaining our passionate volunteers? You’ve got their loyalty.
  • Culture Cultivator: A positive workplace, motivated staff, dedicated volunteers and teamwork—your legacy.
  • Committee Empowerer: You’ll delegate and request monthly updates from committee chairs.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Seasoned manager and team builder.
  • Museum background is desirable, but not required.
  • Passion for and an understanding of the pre-history, history, and culture of the Cave Creek/Carefree Foothills area.
  • Familiarity with budget and banking processes.
  • Computer literacy with programs and software including, but not limited to Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and CRM software platforms.
  • Must be able to occasionally move up to 20 pounds, traverse uneven ground up to 3 miles, and work outdoors in exposed conditions.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary starting at $40,000 to $45,000/year.
