SUMMARY:The Arizona Gold Mining Experience™
DESCRIPTION:Museum opens at 9:00 am for event check-in; the ARIZONA GOLD MINING EXPERIENCE™ begins at 10:00 am. \nThe Cave Creek Museum’s AZ GOLD MINING EXPERIENCE™ is unique with its display of the complete hard rock ore extraction process\, with the mine shaft\, tramway\, ore carts\, crushing and extraction\, that are always on display\, but operated on 2nd Saturdays. The highlight is Arizona’s only fully operational ten-stamp ore crushing mill. The ten 1\,000-lb stamps slam down in synchronized motion to pound the ore removed from the mine into a fine gravel. The stamp mill was brought from its former location at the Golden Reef Mine on Continental Mountain to where it sits today. This is the only operational mining stamp mill in Arizona today that sits only 5 miles from its original site on the mountain. \nThe program begins with a lively recounting of Cave Creek Mining District’s heyday\, followed by a visit to the arrastre\, a primitive apparatus that pulverized ore with the power of beast or man. Hold onto your hats when the old mine blows its top! Then onto the Golden Reef Stamp Mill and Tramway\, where our highly trained and dedicated “Dream Team” fires up the engines of the stamp mill and once again the mountainsides echo with the crashing beat of the mechanical crusher. Watch as the tramway carries ore to be pulverized! \nThen onto the Blacksmith Shop for a demonstration of skill that was highly valued in a time where parts and tools had to be fabricated on site. Next be sure to try your luck at our Gold-panning station\, where docents will show you how to pan for ore and minerals just like the old prospectors did. Maybe you’ll strike gold! \nRemember\, your admission ($15 for guests 13 yrs and up\, children 12 yrs and under are free**) is also good for a leisurely tour of the Museum’s Historical and Archaeology collections and be sure to visit our other Outdoor Exhibits: the collection of many other articles from Cave Creek’s mining and agricultural past\, the Historic First Church\, and our TB Cabin\, which is on the National Register of Historic Places as the only known existing tubercular cabin from that era. \nGet ready to travel back in Time!\nNote: this program is approximately 1 hr and 15 minutes long and largely takes place in the Outside Exhibit Area. It is not ADA compliant. Footing is uneven and slightly hilly in places. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sunscreen! \n**Due to the popularity of The AZ GOLD MINING EXPERIENCE™\, tickets must be pre-purchased.  No Membership Discounts. Culture Passes will not be accepted for this event. \nxProduct()Tickets are non-refundable\, but may be used for an Arizona Gold Mining Experience 90 days from purchased date by calling Staff at 480-488-2764.

DESCRIPTION:SPAGHETTI WESTERN: DINNER WITH A SIDE OF HISTORY\nFollow the footsteps of the old miners and cowboys\, and make tracks to join us for the 10th Annual Spaghetti Dinner at Harold’s benefiting Cave Creek Museum.  Since the 1930s\, Harold’s has been THE place in Cave Creek to gather for libations and food.  Come enjoy a fresh green salad\, a heaping portion of pasta bathed in a meaty tomato sauce (Danny’s Momma’s recipe) and some seriously good garlic toast. (I have no idea why Harold’s garlic toast is so much better than the stuff I make at home\, but it is!) As always\, iced tea or water is free\, but you can always belly up to the bar if you prefer something sassier. By the way\, that mahogany bar came to Harold’s by way of the Crystal Palace Saloon down Tucson way. (You might want to remember that tidbit for the Cave Creek Museum Trivia Contest!) \nAlong with the Trivia Contest\, there’ll be live music\, 50/50 Raffle\, our Infamous Silent Auction\, and loads of fun stuff to do. \nNew for this year … become a sponsor!! Choose from 4 sponsorship tiers and each tier includes at least 1 dinner ticket.  Click here for more info. \nCome suck up a noodle\, suck up some history and support your favorite hometown Museum. Tickets are $38/adult\, $15/child (5 & under free)! We look forward to tradin’ howdies\, pard’ner! \nClick on the “Buy Now” Button to purchase tickets.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.  Once you have made your selection and ticket(s) appear in your shopping cart\, click on cart to go to check-out page. \nxProduct()

\nxProduct()

The tour ascends to the Mountain Chaparral vegetation zone with absolutely breathtaking views up to a 4\,500-foot elevation. \nYour full-day immersible history of mining and the Cave Creek area consists of you attending the interactive Arizona Gold Mining Experience in the morning and the Gold Fever Adventure in the afternoon.  (These are purchased separately.) \nThe short ride to the summit can be a bit dusty and bouncy\, but is exhilarating fun with entertaining narration and educational photo stops along the trail.  You can enjoy complimentary refreshments with free time to relax on the patio while taking in the jaw-dropping vistas. \nYou then proceed to the gold mine where you are rewarded with a historic tableau of 1800’s artifacts excavated from the Ft.
