You’ll find her set up right by the massive model of Black Mountain\, surrounded by exhibits honoring the region’s history-makers: miners\, military\, ranchers\, “lungers\,” and early tourists. \nBlacksmithing: Head outside to the Blacksmith Shed! Join our community partner\, Desert Rat Forge\, and resident artisan “Dief” for live demonstrations and ongoing “branding” activities. \nWWI “Silks” Textile Postcards: Step inside the historic Cave Creek Church—the exact spot where the museum first opened its doors in April 1970. Collector Sue Palmer will showcase her rare\, personal collection of fabric postcards made in France during\nWorld War I as a way to keep our soldiers connected to their families. \nAt The Old Gazebo: During the 1970s\, small-town bandstands sparked a nostalgic revival as focal points for identity and gathering. This event honors that beautiful tradition\, inviting you to slow down\, gather together\, and celebrate the enduring spirit of the Cave Creek Mining District.
